A photograph like a shop window, denying its own materiality. A postcard as a consumable view intended to be taken home, bears witness to times when images still had a body. Yet also the glass pane, as a window, is a manifest visual metaphor. Installed in high-rises that house luxury real estate, where no one returns your gaze when you look down from the top floor. Spatialized power relations. The apparent neutrality of transparency. The stands, all different, built to serve the same purpose: to hold views and vistas, to display products. Skyscrapers on wheels lose their grandeur, become mobile, and once again submit to human scales.
